Best-Ever Einkorn Banana Bread 20 Posted by Young Living - June 15, 2015 - At Home, Recipes Give your favorite recipes a healthy boost by including our newly launched Gary’s True Grit Einkorn Flour in place of your regular flour. Einkorn Flour can be substituted in a 1:1 ratio with all-purpose or whole-wheat flours, but it is much easier to digest, allowing for better absorption of nutrients. Try out our best-ever banana bread recipe for a snack that’s both highly nutritious and super delicious!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup organic evaporated cane juice crystals
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups Einkorn Flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 very ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup walnuts (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together the melted butter and cane juice crystals.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla; mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the Einkorn Flour, baking soda, and sea salt. Stir into the butter mixture until smooth.
  5. Fold in the sour cream and bananas (and walnuts, if using). Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean. Cool loaf in the pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Slice and enjoy!

Light the Fire is an exotic combination of rich, earthy, and relaxing aromas. D. Gary Young specifically formulated this unique and proprietary combination to complement and support the Light the Fire convention theme. This warm, spicy fragrance includes several exclusive Young Living essential oils, such as Northern Lights Black Spruce, the first oil distilled at our new Northern Lights Canada farm; Mastrante and Ocotea from our Ecuador farm; Hinoki and Jade Lemon™ from our Taiwan farm; and Nutmeg, Cassia, Canadian Fleabane, and Black Pepper.   • Enhance your shower with essential oils. Put 5–10 drops of Ravintsara on a warm, damp washcloth and place the washcloth in the shower (out of direct contact with the water) immediately before showering.

Do you feel like you have to choose between enjoying the sun and taking care of your hair? Why can’t we do both?

Unfortunately, many of our favorite vacation activities often involve sun, wind, chlorine, or salt water and can leave hair looking flat; but don’t let that keep you from summer fun. Keep your locks as beautiful as ever with these DIY hair recipes!

DIY Dry Hair Spritz

If your hair is dull or naturally dry, spritz this recipe over your hair throughout the day to keep it from looking dry, particularly if you are planning a day in the sun.

  • 1 cup distilled water
  • 10 drops Royal Hawaiian™ Sandalwood
  • 10 drops Frankincense
  • 8 drops Cedarwood
  • 8 drops Ylang Ylang
  • 1 tsp. V-6™ Vegetable Oil Complex
Add all ingredients in a 12-oz. spray bottle. Shake well before spritzing over hair, avoiding the roots.

With only two ingredients, our essential oil-infused, two-ingredient play dough may be our easiest DIY yet! Grab your kids and a mixing bowl to make this fragrant, ultra-soft dough that will keep them busy for hours!

Ingredients
2 cups cornstarch

1 cup KidScents Lotion or Lavender Conditioner

Directions

  1. Place the cornstarch in a large bowl.
  2. Mix in the KidScents Lotion or Lavender Conditioner with clean hands until it holds together and becomes very smooth.
  3. Add more of either cornstarch or your choice of KidScents Lotion or Lavender Conditioner to adjust the consistency as needed.
  4. Kids can press the dough into molds, roll it out and cut it with cookie cutters, or sculpt it into any shape they can imagine!
  5. Store in an airtight container when not in use.
